Welcome: Faith Matters
Halal food is an integral part to all Muslims and we have a collective responsibility to join in to protect this as a direct order from Allah .
“O ye believe! Stand out firmly for justice as witnesses to God,
Even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin,
And whether it be against rich or poor, for Allah can best protect both,
Follow not the lusts (of your hearts),
Lest ye swerve, and if you distort (justice) or decline to do justice ,
Verily Allah is well-aquainted with all that ye do” Sura 4, verse 135
“O ye who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing,
And let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong
And depart from justice,
Be just: that is next to Piety: and fear Allah….” Sura 5, verse 8
Faith Matters
In our journey we endeavour to work together to address sympatheitc areas of work.
“The religious rights of faith communities and the ability to practise those rights, particularly in what they eat, cannot be legislated against and the stories against Halal and Schehita food are scare stories meant to create social change through legislation so that the human rights of these faith communities are taken away. The rights of animals for humane slaughter are made clear within Islam and Judaism. There is a fine balance and the shrill voices against Halal meat preparation are not only extreme in their own right, they are reactionary and at points, deeply prejudiced.”
We welcome and support the important work of behalal.org
