29/12/11 Press release
A dedicated push on exports of beef, lamb and fifth quarter products will continue throughout 2012, EBLEX has revealed.
Its export marketing programme will include participation in major industry fairs in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany,
Austria, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore.
The organisation will also give presentations on livestock genetics at exhibitions in Russia and China before taking part in
two trade missions in Canada and South Africa.
Jean‐Pierre Garnier, EBLEX export manager, said: “The programme reflects the increasing global nature of meat exports, rather than just focused in the EU, and we intend to build on our 2011
success when beef exports rose by 36 per cent.
“The programme includes some major European fairs like SIA in Paris, Cibus in Parma and Alimentaria in Barcelona, but also
some new destinations. In particular, we aim to support our growing exports to Southeast Asia and the Far East with
participation at the Food & Hotel Asia event in Singapore.
“Another of our aims is to respond to demand for lamb in Canada and further expand our beef exports to South Africa.
Exporters are very supportive of our efforts and are increasingly joining us to destinations further afield. We hope that this
ambitious push will generate further growth with our exports.”
