São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce is taking food industry associations and companies to the Saudi Food, Hotel and Hospitality fair, due from May 19 to 22 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Chamber’s stand will cover a 75 square metre area and there are still openings for three companies to participate.
“Saudi Food is one in a set of actions to bring Saudi food buyers and Brazilian exporters closer together; actions include visits of Saudi businessmen to the Confederations Cup Project, in a partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), business missions to Saudi Arabia, and other promotional actions,” says the manager.
Calonga says it is important for enterprises to learn about the benefits of going to a fair in partnership with the Arab Brazilian Chamber. “The Chamber provides the full structure of the stand, invites local buyers to visit us at the event, hands out press releases in the Arab market, and helps with the process of getting visas. When a company goes to a fair with the Arab Brazilian Chamber, it need only worry about its own product; the whole business scenario is catered for the Chamber,” she says.
The investment required for attending the fair is R$ 6,300 (US$ 3,137 at current exchange rates). Member companies get a 30% discount.
Currently in its 18th edition, the Saudi Food, Hotel and Hospitality fair features exhibitors in the food, beverage and hospitality industries. The food companies include manufacturers of frozen foodstuffs, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, spices and others.
According to the event’s website, within three years, the Saudi fast food market should be worth US$ 4.5 billion, and the packaged foods market should amount to US$ 21.7 billion by 2014.
